Zanthion was established by Philip Regenie after experiencing the challenges his parents faced in their final years of life. Philip and his siblings were contacted with false emergencies, real emergencies, and interrupted at work. They, like so many, drove miles to take care of their parents as caring children should. Both parents wore the "state of the art" medical alert systems.
Philip decided to create Zanthion with the priority of preserving the dignity of seniors. We at Zanthion believe in:
assessment of the environment
assessment of frailty
protection from harm
measurement of stability
prediction of decline
Zanthion provides solutions for senior care including assessment of frailty, environment safety assessments, stylish wearable sensors that automatically notify family, friends, staff, and emergency services of a need for help. Zanthion exists to create new and disruptive solutions to improve the lives of seniors and their families.
As Andrew Ng has shown in their research represented in The Machines Are Getting Ready to Play Doctor, AI can easily beat the analytical pattern matching skills of trained professionals detecting arrhythmias. It makes complete sense when you think about what the two of them have to compare against; machine learning – millions of samples, the human however many they can digest.
What we are seeing is the tip of the iceberg. Consider the use of AI with chemistry and material science finding chemical patterns that recognize any number of precursor proteins or molecules to known health issues. Sensors for detection of almost anything will become ubiquitous within a decade. This in combination with DNA testing at reasonable intervals provides the backbone to the analytics required to identify the environmental and genetic factors that have been costing us healthy happy existence and trillions of dollars.
These medical technology advances are not like the technology advances of the last century. They do not involve the building of singular high cost machines or labs to identify problems through a complex expensive process of imagery and recognition. The next generation of technology is low cost and consumer based. Rather than being made in the 1000s they will be made in the 10s of millions. Rather than imagery and lab work being analyzed by high priced medical professionals over a couple of days the sensor data will analyzed instantly, in real time, by AI on our phones, gateways, or in ambient hardware in our environment.
Streaming sensor health data with identified health effects will be integrated with ambient streaming environmental sensors. There will no longer be discussions as to whether smoking, sugar, corn oil, or oil production facilities cause such and such. Predictive and consequential results will be obvious, proven, and supported with data. The effects of environmental factors such as diet, pollution, and axiety will align with the costs of healthcare and the obvious will be concluded and acted on; contaminates costing trillions will be removed from our value chain.
Our future is much brighter with technology in it eventually ensuring Quality of Life for Everyone.
